The link above, like most online sources, presents this as a loop hike with White Oak Canyon.  I’ve done the two separetely as out-and-back hikes, but never completed the loop because, essentially, I’m not a morning person.  I’ve never given myself enough daylight hours to complete the two.

White Oak Canyon is certainly the more picturesque of the two, but this hike in November 2012 was post-melt from the first snow of the season, so the water level was decent.  The trail along Cedar Run does not take you past the best viewpoints for each of the three waterfalls along the trail, and at least one of them was, for me, too steep to attempt bushwacking my way to a better angle.  The thing is, when there is good water flow, all the smaller drop-offs and slides along the run will constantly leave you questioning “does that count as one of the three waterfalls?”

This photo here is taken at the first set of falls you come across when hiking up the canyon, however the falls are obscured from view on the left side of the frame.
